I remember my granparents taking me to Cliftons in West Covina back in the late 60s and there was someone playing live organ music. I went there a few months before it closed and there was a youngish guy playing live organ music for eager grandmotherly fans. I miss that place, and the other Clifton...

I never was able to get to the old Trader Vic's, although I desperately wanted to for the last 20 years since I turned 21 and would look longingly out the window at it every time I passed, wishing I could stop. But it was a full restaurant as well as a bar, right? And this... travesty... isn't? It's...

The off-the-shelf rides and architecture is extremely similar to Magic Mountain when it first opened in 1971, so I'd say that if it's 1960s, it's late '60s, probably 1968 or later, possibly by the same designer. Does anybody have recent photos of this store which was once a Biff's and then Sam's Cafe and most recently Starlite Cafe or Stardust Cafe? That last one was bogus. That sign was left over from filming at that location. It hasn't been open to the public for... um, I want to say eight years now, but...

I’ve been wondering about Sonics because I’ve seen them on TV, but I think the only one in California is in Imperial County. There's one near the Anaheim/Fullerton border, one street east of Harbor Blvd. It's right across from that shopping center -- "Orangefair," I think it's called. It's the ...

Is the Westcoast Anaheim hotel Googie carport gone?

I went past the (former?) I may be mistaken, but i do believe that Michael's was used as the original "Arnolds" backdrop in "Happy Days". It may be lore, but that's what i was always told growning up in LA. Not the original , but after the whateverth season, when they had the "Arnold's destroyed by fire" plot, the "rebuilt"...
